I have always had an active imagination. At six, I convinced my classmates that I was a jungle girl with a different language and later on I became an artist (at least to my classmates) who drew horses and paper dolls for my friends. I was influenced by my mother’s love of painting and drawing and decided at a young age that I wanted to be an artist. To me painting is a wonderful way to express my imagination, to get outside the box whenever I wish. A lifetime is a mere blink and there is so much to learn and experience in a blink. . To me, art is an expression of life, full of the potential for successes and failures. Actually I cannot imagine a life with out art. To me that would be like living in a black and white movie. My current work is done with oil and acrylic. I love creating a feeling of ambiguity using these different materials to create a combination of transparent and opaque layers in the paintings. This gives a sense of mystery to the works.
